Merry Strawberry Matcha Milk Tea (メリーストロベリー抹茶ミルクティー) – Gong Cha

I’m going home today, so obviously to go home I first have to go to the airport. For my last drink before going home, I’m going to Gong Cha, because they just have to come out with a new seasonal for the holidays that ends on Christmas. This is part 2 of their holiday drink series. To be honest, I was also going to see if they had this special gingerbread man shaped cup that was also limited, but I think they’re already out of stock…

This drink is made with a matcha milk tea base, strawberry sauce, and milk foam. Fairly straightforward matcha and strawberry drink. Do I not have to try the plain matcha milk tea now?

The drink, like the description, is very straightforward: very matcha, and very strawberry. I was actually surprised by how strong the matcha flavor was, as I had the impression that Gong Cha’s base teas are a little less flavorful. The boba was a little hard when I eventually started drinking it on the train to the airport, but maybe because the drink was cold.
